Earth Day

Happy Monday!

This weekend was so busy but so wonderful! I hope that you had an amazing Easter, celebrating with family and friends.

Mine was spent with family, relaxing and spring cleaning!

Since today is Earth Day, I just wanted to share with you some of my favorite ways to be “environmentally friendly”.

One thing I have done recently is try diligently to use my reusable bags! I have so many bags that I have bought from Trader Joe’s, Sprouts and the Disney Store and have been consciously trying to use them more often. One thing that prompted that was when I opened up the cabinet a few weeks ago I realized just how many plastic bags Damiean and I had accumulated and saved. While those bags are not in landfills currently, if every person has that many saved up around the house, image how many are thrown away!

Another way I am trying to reduce my footprint is by recycling. I will admit that I am sometimes lazy about recycling. However, I have been really trying to separate all my items into the appropriate bins so they wind up where they need to go. By taking a few extra minutes to separate trash from recycle, we can could cut down the amount of garbage that winds up in not only our landfills but also our oceans.

Reusable coffee cups and water bottles!! This was one that I did not think about until I was reading an article that mentioned the amount of coffee cups and plastic water bottles that wind up in landfills every year. I know you hear me talk about my love of coffee a lot so please know I am actively working on utilizing reusable coffee cups as often as possible.

Lastly, finding products that are eco-friendly! I love products that have packaging that is recyclable and also that don’t have a huge carbon footprint during their production. One of my favorites is all of the products from Treazured Scentz! All of the products made are produced with the environment in mind. To quote the website, “Devoted to respecting the environment all of our products are made with Eco-friendly, natural and recyclable materials. “

What is your favorite way to reduce your footprint?

How are you celebrating Earth Day!
