Weekend Recap! 9/6-9/8
I know, I know. It’s Tuesday! I had the best of intentions on posting this yesterday but did not quite get it finished! So therefore, you are getting two posts today to make up for it.
How was your weekend? Mine always seem to fly by too quickly and before I know it I am back in my office wondering where the time went.
Friday night I made some delicious ribs in the Instapot. Which, can I just say is currently one of my favorite cooking items. I don’t know what I would do without it! As always, Friday night it is a fight to stay up until after 10:00 and I found myself crawling into bed by 10:15!
Saturday, I pulled out my second favorite cooking item and made some Kodiak Cakes Waffles. This was the first time I had made the Buttermilk and I must say I did like the flavor but they were a tiny bit dense for me. If you have a suggestion on how to make them a little more fluffy, I would happily take the suggestion.
Saturday was spent running errands like grocery shopping and turning in Damiean’s car to get some repairs done. On our way home we picked up some lunch and then I headed to get a massage. I have had some ongoing shoulder pain so I am trying a few different things to help alleviate some of the discomfort. Lunch for Damiean was a sub from Jersey Mike’s and I opted for a salad from Salad and Go. If you have one in your area and have been debating whether or not to give it a try, I highly recommend you do it. I do a build your own and it is always delicious. Plus the fact that you can get any size beverage, even cold brew coffee for a $1 makes it an easy decision.
One of the stops I made this weekend was Target. I was so, so excited to see that their Dollar Spot was stocked with Fall/ Halloween Décor!! My next post will be a few of the amazing finds I got to start decorating with. In addition to those, I picked up a few household necessities along with quite a few things I did not need. But!!! I am so excited to say I found the perfect pair of denim jeggings! If you have ever tried on a pair, you know finding the perfect fit is sometimes a challenge. I tried on 6 different pairs but ultimately went with the first pair I tried on which are by Universal Thread. I also got two t-shirts that I am hoping to wear under the longer cardigans if the weather ever cools down!
Another great find is this make up bag!
If you have been a reader for awhile you know that I love,LOVE Rachel Hollis. Since she runs the Chic Site, I thought this felt like an appropriate daily reminder to be amazing! However, because it was fresh and new, I felt like switching over my make up required a complete overhaul. So the bathroom counter wound up looking like this:
I am very proud to say that after sorting and deciding what I actually needed to keep, I got it all narrowed down to the following:
I am a big fan of the E.L.F. brand because it is cruelty free and cost efficient.
One section I did not purchase anything from but heavily perused was the book section!
There were a ton of books that look really, really good but I still have quite a few I need to finish before investing in any more!
The last part of my day consisted of putting together a packing list since Damiean and I are California bound on Thursday night and also working on a new recipe. Any guesses what it was?
Sunday was spent with my mom and sister so I do not have any photos of that. There was a lot of Great British Baking Challenge involved and Fajitas!
This week is going to be short and crazy since I am packing and trying to wrap up some things at work before we leave on Thursday! What does you week look like?
