Disney Tips and Tricks

New Disney Updates!

Hi There!

I hope you are all having a fantastic day so far. We are officially half way through the week! Do you guys have big plans for this weekend?

I am heading to California on Saturday Morning and will be back on Monday. We will be hitting Malibu to take my sisters graduation photos and also heading to Disney! Because we live so close, it is easy for us to plan a quick trip. However, I started thinking about the Facebook groups that I am part of where people’s countdowns are in the triple digits and how the recent policy updates that are starting at Disney soon might effect their vacations.

While a majority of these updates will become effective as of May 1, 2019, there is one that is effective immediately. These new updates will effect Walt Disney World as well as Disneyland. People seem to be on both sides of the fence regarding these updates with some being extremely excited and happy, while others are very disappointed with these updates. I, myself, am very excited for most of these changes.

Strollers

The first big change is the guidelines for strollers. While I know many parents are a bit miffed at this change, I do think it will cut down on the amount of congestion while trying to make your way around the park.

Stroller Wagons

Another change causing some negative feelings is the parks no longer allowing the stroller wagons. If you have been the parks lately, you know that these “SUV” like stroller wagons are prevalent and take up a large amount of space. I do feel that not allowing them in the parks will be a positive change as the parks will only continue to get more and more crowded with the new enhancements opening soon, i.e.- Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge!

Smoking Areas

This one, I know, is creating quite the stir on many pages and for some may even effect their decision on whether or not to visit the Disney Parks on their next vacation. I realize that it is an inconvenience for those who want to smoke to have to leave the parks to do so but I am so excited that I don’t have to walk into a wall of smoke in certain areas of the parks.

Loose and/or Dry Ice

This change is one that is effective as of March 28, 2019 and that is that there is no more loose or dry ice is permitted in the park. Guests are advised to use reusable ice packs if they bring a cooler or cooler bag.
