Weekend Recap and Medal Monday
Happy Monday!
I don’t know about you but I always dread Monday, especially when the weekend is full of activities and seems to speed by like crazy!
This weekend was full of running, movies and hockey! Since D works on the weekend, I spend a majority of my time with my parents and sisters enjoying the two days off a week I have.
Saturday morning we got up extra early, not always fun when it is one of the few days I get to sleep in, but it was for a run so I can usually muster up the energy to drag myself out of bed. My mom, sisters and myself ran the Run To Fight Children’s Cancer 5k. It is a race I have done for quite a few years and it just keeps getting better. I will do a full recap later this week in case anyone is curious about what to expect. Spoiler Alert: It was a ton of fun!
After the race we went to Matt’s Big Breakfast on Camelback at the Biltmore. Sydnee and I discovered it on Instagram when we were joking about going to “Flavortown” as Guy Fiere says. When we stumbled upon this gem that was featured on Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives, we knew we had to venture that direction. It was a bit different than what we were expecting but it was delicious and worth the 15 minute wait. I might give you a brief write up later on about the food and atmosphere.
After eating a delicious omelette and grabbing a Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha Iced Coffee, I hung out with my sisters on the couch…basically the rest of the day. It was definitely nice to relax since laying around on the couch is not something I do very often. We watched Chopped, Top Chef, Moana and part of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 before dinner. After dinner my mom joined us to watch a few episodes of Nailed It, which is a new show (at least new to us) on Netflix. If you are a fan of Pinterest Fails, then this is definitely a show you will appreciate! Around 10:00 we were all falling asleep on the couch so decided to head to bed.
Sunday is always tough because it eventually turns into pre-Monday. I started my day off with some Dark Chocolate Kodiak cakes for breakfast and then finally made my way to getting dressed. Sydnee and I ran to get some coffee, then headed home to prep for the week. I put away laundry and picked out outfits for the week. It is unfortunately going to be a very long week at work because we have clients in office almost every day. Clients in office typically means leaving work after 5:00 for me.
After finishing up some things around the house, I started prepping my planner for the week ahead. I am a huge fan of the Happy Planner and love the layout. Once I started filling it in with a few things going on this week, I quickly realized that there may not be enough coffee to keep me going , haha.
Around 4:45 we left to head to the Coyotes game. Fun Fact: my sister, Sydnee, is a die hard hockey fan and can often be found blogging about hockey or talking about hockey with anyone who will listen. She could even tell you the birthday and sometimes favorite color of almost all the players for the Coyotes.
It was an intense game but in the end the Coyotes did win 1-0, which means $.99 coffee at Dunkin Donuts tomorrow! Woohoo! Coffee is good, but cheap or free coffee…tastes even better.
After the game we headed home and it was time to wind down for bed. All in all it was a great weekend spent with my sisters and parents.
Since it has been awhile since I have updated my medal Monday, here is the updated rack. There have been quite a few added since the last time I posted, one from this weekend as well as a few others I earned along the way. While I am proud of all of them, the ones I love looking at the most are my Superheros Half Marathon Weekend medals. I will be doing separate race reviews for each of the three races I completed during that week so you know what to expect when they do finally bring back the race. I will say that those medals were hard earned and each one of them represents a PR!
With daylight savings time having just occurred (everywhere else but here and a few other places) I hope that all of you have a happy Monday filled with positive thoughts and plenty of coffee.
Until next time..
What is your favorite kind of coffee?
Do you have a favorite medal on your rack?

Wow, that is quite the medal collection!! How long has it taken to accumulate all those?

Thank you so much! I started running in 2012 and haven’t stopped since! After I ran my first 5k, I was anxious to increase my mileage and earn the big medals so I immediately started training for a half marathon and have since done over 30- 5k’s, 2- 10k’s, 1- 15k and 9- Half Marathons.

That’s is awesome. I just started running a couple years ago. My medal collection is on it’s way. 🙂

That is wonderful! What has been your favorite race so far?

Probably Ragnar Trail. It was up in the mountains and we had to camp for a couple nights. Sooo fun…and by the end we were all loopy from lack of sleep. 🙂

That sounds like fun but I am not a camping person but I do know that kind of loopy! My sister and I did the Superhero’s Half Marathon weekend and ran a 5k, 10k and a half marathon over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday and had 3:30 A.M. wake up calls for each. Copious amounts of coffee were consumed and I still can barely recall a majority of the weekend!

That sounds like so much fun! I don’t know why I enjoy the ones where I’m sleep deprived but it seems to be a thing. 🙂
